One of the biggest challenges we face as senior move managers is helping our clients realize that decluttering your life begins by decluttering your home. A big step in this direction means taking a look at items once considered valuable or cost lots of money, are no longer worth what they paid and may not even be able to be sold. This is due in large part to the generational difference in accumulation as well as the enormous growth rate of our aging population.
Before we begin the process of decluttering your home, downsizing and determining the most cost-effective way to accomplish clearing a home, we will photograph the items you will not be keeping and get descriptions to accompany the items.
We then create a document and share this document with our vendors who include: Estate sale companies, consignment shops, auctioneers, buyout companies and specialty companies (like coin collectors).
We can also arrange for an appraise or art collectors to come in if there items of high value or there is some question about value. (The appraisals are done by a third party and the cost is the responsibility of the seller.
Once items have been photographed we will determine the best plan of action if a third party company can administer the sale and give the best outcome.
