As Senior Move Managers we assist adults and their families with the emotional and logistical aspects of relocation– whether it’s to a smaller space, moving to be near family, or moving into a senior living residence.
Our Silver Linings team brings a gentle approach to each move by breaking it down into manageable pieces. Each move manager is experienced and compassionate in every aspect of your move, including: measuring furniture, planning room layout, packing delicate items, reducing clutter, and organizing small spaces. We handle even the smallest details like allowing room for outlets, hanging family pictures and artwork, making of beds, and setting of clocks. Our Move Managers minimize the feelings of chaos and stress associated with moving by proactively addressing all aspects of the move process.
We start by getting to know our clients on a personal level to find out their likes (do they cook often?), preferences (shirts folded a certain way), daily habits (drink coffee?), and what’s most important to them. Then, side by side, we create a seamless action plan, customized to the client’s wishes.
Move Managers do so much more than simply sort, pack and unpack boxes. We take the worry (and work!) out of the move process.
We are members of the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM) which means we subscribe to a code of ethics and a governing body. It also means we are better able to support our senior clients and their adult children through what can be the most stressful transition they might make in their lifetime. We are accredited by the Better Business Bureau and insured, licensed and bonded.
Six Step Solution to an Easier Transition
Space Planning – We measure and photograph your new space and then do a home visit to measure and assess your furniture guiding you from our years of experience of what works best in a smaller space and considering physical limitations.
Sorting – We guide you gently through the sorting process mindful of what will realistically and safely fit in your new home.
Selling – We evaluate what you will be leaving behind and work with our estate coordinator and third parties to sell what we can and donate the remainder. Our last resort is to do do a haul away,
Sharing and Shipping – We expertly pack any items you’ll be giving to loved ones who might be out of town and organize and coordinate any shipping
Setting Up – We coordinate all your move logistics and coordinate any third parties. We’ll handle the packing, unpacking, decorating and organization freeing you up to focus on other things
Getting You Settled – On move day, we pledge to have you “Done by Dinner”. Your first night in your new home, will have you sleeping safely in a freshly made bed free of boxes in the walkways. After your first night, we’ll schedule a
time to work alongside you and make any adjustments you need to feel “right” at home.
